One reason I love it so much is that the offender assumed that because she was an American, she loved being groped. He paid for it with a smashed face, as well as a very angry crowd. This is what happens when you grab the wrong woman.

Being complicit, silent, and embarrassed gives men permission. Your point is perfect. When you and I fight back, publicly shame, and yes, by god, even smash them in the face, that is the beginning of the end. As long as any low life pervert- and they are EVERYWHERE- thinks he can get away with it, he will.

It has to stop with us. Right here right now. Loud and proud. When I was sixty -SIXTY-a horse guide in Costa Rica tried hard to get me drunk and compliant. I don’t drink. Ever. Never will. By the end of our ride he kept putting his hand on my thigh. I told him if he did it one more time I would rip off his family jewels. Do we fucking understand one another?

He stopped.

When they are not challenged, called out and shamed, they WILL NOT STOP.

Abuse stops with us. We are going to take flak for fighting back. But if we don’t, then the generations to come will have to deal with the same bullshit we do. Fight. Back. Now. Be brave enough to take the heat. Someone has to do it. Might as well be us.
