You know what this line brings up for me, since I write about healthy aging a lot, is that what people honest to god simply DO NOT UNDERSTAND is that long haul Covid is in some many ways like suddenly aging fifty years overnight. You could argue, and be right, that it differs for each of us. Look, if folks wanna play Russian Roulette with their lungs and overall health have at it, but the hue and cry about "rights" and "privileges" ends where other's noses begin. The selfishness boggles the mind. You could very legitimately argue that obesity and diabetes and lifestyle illnesses have also aged us all young, but long haul Covid is the icing on the proverbial cake. As always appreciate the clarity. I have young friends in France, outside the city, and they report that the response is appalling, the ignorance and fear unbelievable, and early on, the biggest concern was that the disruption to the supply chain meant they couldn't get their favorite pasta. Jesus H. Christ. Here in Oregon, but for the red parts of the state which are forcing tighter controls yet again, most places I go people take masks and vaccines seriously. Yet the resistance is a fact across all generations. Scary shit.
