You are most kind, Emily. I suffer from these as much as anyone else. If nothing else they are great teachers. The compulsion to be perfect, which is born of both of these, kept me from publishing my first book for years. It's still unpublished. There's a great line out of the Denzel Washington movie The Equalizer: Progress, not perfection. The next book was done in nine months and promptly won three prizes. It has typos. They all do, most likely, but not many, and that's the whole point. We are all born with typos. That's what makes us, us.
