While I understand that you did a nice job of stating up front that you really do have to have copious amounts of lemons to hurt yourself, people may not hear that. Here’s my side of it: anyone who is an oxalate kidney stone former, and I am, would be VERY wise to squeeze half a lemon into a tall glass once a day. That does an excellent job of mitigating the effects of many of the oxalates we ingest, albeit some foods need to be off the menu entirely (like, sadly, spinach and almonds). The key here as it is with ALL things is moderation. As for the microorganisms, will you just PLEASE. Kindly read Ed Yong’s "I Contain Mulititudes," and tell me why on EARTH I should be fearful of microorganisms. Unless you’re discussing a nasty virus, that’s about all we are. There is no reason to terrify folks about what makes up almost all of our bodies, lives on our skin, happily inhabits our guts and without which, kindly, we wouldn’t exist. It’s just science.
