While it’s dangerous to ask for ideas, here goes. First, my creds. I had eating disorders for forty years. Not a typo. It’s been ten since the last moment of compulsive eating. Oh, and four months. So it would be fair to say I have reference points. Your wellness committee sounds like Food Justice Warriors on steroids. I gotta wonder how many if them gulp and hork behind closed doors? There is nothing healthy about what they are doing. Second, fat, as you point out, with the exception of morbid obesity, has nothing to do with fit. They are making their issues everyone else’s issue. Third, this is a journey, it has not a god-damned thing to do with food, and everything to do with dissipating anxiety. Food is the tool. Fix that, you may turn to hand washing or a clothing jones or or or. The pain needs an escape valve. Find a healthy one ( and note to self, compulsive exercise is also damaging) and you might find the start of real relief. Finally, find your funny. When I started to replay the worst of my eating disorder history through a Robin williams filter, not only did I nearly die laughing, that was the beginning of the end of the stranglehold the disorders had on me. Your path is unique to you. You will get where you need to go. Logic doesn’t have anything to do with it when you are done with it it will be done with you. Safe journey. Nobody can do this better than you can.
