When my regional VA opened up a brand new hospital, the level of care along with everything else plummeted. We were on 60 minute holds. When I called the patient advocate I was told they were no longer taking any calls, messages or issues because they were completely overwhelmed. This is a nice idea but not if the organization has no process, not enough people and an inadequate commitment to patient needs.
