What a lovely way to put this, Jane.

As I watch the makeup industry hire older women- and to a degree I am delighted but those women are still so stick-thin that they look ill and frail- I am pleased that society, if nothing else, recognizes who has the money.

However, said society still attacks us for aging, for wrinkling, for not being Forever Young. It has been an uphill battle for me to come to terms with what we all must, which is the passage of time, the loss of certain advantages that come with youth as delivered by a youth-obsessed society.

But I wouldn’t trade what I have inside for any potion that makes my face smooth again. I like what I have become, what I am becoming, and my face is my passport. It’s got a lot of stamps on it.

What a great article theme. I think I’ll pilfer that.
