What a breath of fresh air. As if. As if anyone anywhere really had an original thought any more. We are all of us ninjas and thought leaders and other monumental bullshit, as ways to prop up sagging egos. Any one who reads anything at all understands that most of it has already been said. It’s the rethinking of it for new environments that makes something new. Nobody is really original, and I include myself. I put out two prize-winning books, but the only thing that was really original was the way I packaged old material. That’s all any of us does at this point. To call ourselves thought leaders, well. I saw an extremely funny Linked in video where a guy came out on stage and just skewered the hubris and silliness of it. I fell out of my chair. I see in my industry all the time with speakers, who honestly believe they are original. Brand new. As if nobody ever came up with the notional that all sales are relationships. WTF, dude. Read all original religious texts, read the ancient philosophers, and then please come back and tell me how fucking original you are. Please, I gotta hear this.
