Wendy,

To your point, intelligence is relative. If so many otherwise so-called very high IQ folks with multiple degrees can be hoodwinked into believing conspiracy theories, then I have to wonder just what we mean by intelligence?

Because critical thinking, discernment, the ability to challenge, research and hold alternate ideas up and look at them all speak to me of genuine intelligence.

If we curate what we consume to such a narrow line of thought, of course we’re going to get brainwashed. That to me is why it’s so very important to allow ourselves to hear out the other sides, and make the best decision we can. I fear we’ve lost that, the education system itself has failed us, and the fear of education’s turning people into liberals (a quote that made me guffaw) all point to a downhill slide.

It was indeed heartbreaking.
