Well of course. I only surround myself with people who agree with me on all things all the time utterly and completely. I never leave the house, I only stay in my own circles, I’ve never traveled nor have I ever, nor would I ever allow any kind of opposing opinion near me. I would never countenance the idea of opposing viewpoints or exposing myself to cultures different from my own. It would never, ever EVER occur to me to consider allowing any kind of variation of how the world might be to others to threaten my pristine view of the world. Diversity of thought and experience are so very overrated, Timo. What a horror to actually read or travel or listen or experience anything outside what we already know.

Well of course not. My mind is now and has always been completely shut to any and all input from anyone who does not completely and utterly validate my opinion. Why would I? What chore to have to think. What a chore to have to grow.

I realize that it may not have been your intention but I had such a good laugh at this I nearly hurt myself this morning.

I have no clue if you have read any of my work but, since it might be somewhat enlightening, it might serve to do so before offering me a lecture, no matter how well-intended, on how “we can learn from of all kind of persons both good and bad.” I fear you completely missed the point of the piece, which is fine, for as you illustrate perfectly with your comment, we all read and experience through our own lenses. I did take the time to read some of your other comments and writings because I wished to put your words into context.

My piece was a statement about what infects LinkedIn. I am joined in that opinion by a great many thousands of other LinkedIn users who are exhausted by the cheap sales pitches by people who want AI to do what ONLY research and personal outreach can accomplish. You most certainly do not need to agree with me, that is your perfect right.

I will now go immerse myself in the self-righteousness and isolation that you seem to believe I embody. Back to my world where I never travel, never allow any kind of difference of opinion touch my life. Horrors. What a thought.

Thank you kindly for the guffaw.

By the way your quote: Sun Tzu is credited with the phrase “Keep your friends close; keep your enemies closer.”

It was also featured in the second installment of The Godfather.
