To your point- the inability to disconnect when one is in the wild- and I mean leave the damned speakers at HOME will you- troubles me even more. In places where we desperately need to remember ourselves, in the precious wilderness, people lug in their boom boxes and blast every living creature within three miles away. That is invasive. Why are we so afraid of silence? Lots of thoughts around that. Silence actually heals the brain. HEALS it. Yet so many of us can’t contemplate….contemplation.
