To your point- not all of us can, and that is the grace by which I think we all need to be slightly kinder to ourselves. It frustrates me a times, Mia, when every so often I will get a nasty gram (not yours, I got two from the same person last night and this morning) who will take my comments utterly out of context and take deep personal offense. Some of what I write simply will not apply to certain people, and if I were to write that into every single article the damned things would double in size. We do our best to deal with what life has given us. There are times that we simply cannot do, but instead learn how to be. Which is a pretty damned good life lesson in and of itself.
