To this I might add: https://medium.com/@jhubbel/im-not-comfortable-precisely-8417b322fc7
Comfort is the absolute enemy of growth. It’s the only feedback that we have that proves that we’re evolving. Without discomfort we stagnate, slide backwards, and settle into permanent mediocrity.
We’re designed to be a tad uneasy, as in the head that wears the crown. If that head wonders, then said monarch works hard to keep the masses happy. Discomfort is evolution. Without it, we die intellectually, spiritually, physically, emotionally.
If I had a New Year’s Resolution or a prayer (I have neither, I’m too busy being uncomfortable) I’d ask for more discomfort this year. That way, by year’s end, I’ll have a slew of new accomplishments, along with all the inevitable and law-conformable failures that led to those successes.
