When I was in Indonesia this past January, with a very nasty urinary issue that five hospitals and four urologists (all male) couldn’t solve, my hosts took me to yet another hospital where a doctor- demoted to Administration- worked. She came to see me in the ER. Treated me.

What she did worked. It began the healing process. It was the first time someone actually listened, heard, and treated.

That’s why she worked in Administration. Need I say more?

It doesn’t make much difference what industry. What you describe happens on the adventure trips I take. Men take one look at my gender and age and make monumentally stupid assumptions. As in Egypt, where the grooms walked me up to a pretty little Egyptian mare and told me not to be afraid of her.

Like you I also decry some of the ridiculous shit I see on Medium. I’ve not been on it anywhere near as long, April 18, so I wasn’t subject to the masturbation that men engaged on initially.
