This was deeply distressing to read, not just because you really nailed several public figures for whom I have utter disgust, but that is exacerbated by the fact that so many people will use this idiot as the measurement of Black men. Some, yes. Just like some folks will use Trump as the measure of all White men. Some, yes. That ignores the vast diversity of the diaspora of any race, recognizing that there are plenty of extraordinary people and extraordinary idiots, each at the opposite ends of the long tail of the bell curve.

It's an unfortunate habit of the retired athlete (please see Brady, who really should go, vs. Manning, who went out on top) to others of any race who simply cannot deal with the fact that their time in the sun is done. Serena went out swinging, and with dignity. When you know you are done, be gone. But this? This not only insults his fellow athletes but above all insults his race, and further insults those of us who want badly to see Black faces in power. Yes, but not this kind who will undermine so very much good.

In a similar vein, I might have said years ago that we needed more women in Congress. Then we got MTG and Boebert. So we really need to be specific when we wish or else we end up with people like Walker who do more damage to the cause than imaginable.

Hard swinging and hard to read but you call it like it is. It's going to get messy.
