This is the fundamental difference between being sincere and being serious. We can manufacture all kinds of "well I deserve X," but when we really take that magical thinking to task it falls apart. Our use-once-it's-done body DESERVES good nutrition, good exercise, sleep. That's what it deserves. I'm not without my own challenges, but after being obese, 34 years ago I dumped 85 lbs, it's still off, and I am still lifting after 47 years. You do not have the kind of shape I'm in as I bark at seventy if you spend a lot of time curling your beer mug instead of dumbbell.

I agree with you totally. The problem is that the discipline it takes to reach a level of fitness and maintain it for life means...more discipline. I've never had a hangover, thank god, but my guess is that if we as a society would learn to trade hangover and poor health for NO hangover and much better health, maybe we'd get somewhere. But, that's a pipe dream.
