This is a one year later PS. The long term BF turned out to be a POS as it were, abusive, and I am right glad to be single. However, what you said in your piece about overpricing ourselves? With respect Ed I have to tone down so much of who I am and what I do for men my age so that they aren’t threatened it’s a running joke. And as for how we present ourselves? My God Ed. I have never seen so many sloppy, overweight Athletic and Toned men in my life.

I continue to write about this with humor, but I have largely given up dating for now. I’ve got too many trips, a book to finish, sell and move to another state, too much on my mind. That’s a gift.

The journey just is what it is, Ed. I have preferences, they stand. I am quite happy with horses and dogs. It’s exhausting, the level of dishonesty, for as we age we are all fearful of having lost our attractiveness. That said, nobody has to be Adonis, or Venus de Milo. We do have to honest, and without that there is nothing. My BF was dishonest across the board. Took me ten years to sort that out. Good Riddance.
