This deserves its own article, Scott. While I am most certainly not Black, which carries all the nastiness of (what, can you read?) confirmation bias, I can utterly and totally underscore this piece. At 68, I did 120 men's pushups on my birthday on the 17th. Last year at 67 I did 100. When I go public with those, one of which was counted off by a fellow body builder at my old gym, I am accused of lying. Well, Sparky, after 47 years of bodybuilding, I would be more gobsmacked if I couldn't pound out 100 pushups, which, given the 120, I do every other day now. That's hardly all but you get my point. I do adventure travel all over the world. One of my best buddies, Dr. Rosenna Bakari, just turned 58 and she lifts, does marathons and is a fourth degree Black Belt. She is also Black, which also underscores my point- she is seriously badass, but her age is what people hear. The rest doesn't even register. This is how brainwashed we all are about a fricken number.
