I wonder whether there would be (and it might be simply impossible at this point) a way to correlate COVID deaths with herpes simplex 1&2 in those same patients/deceased. Might not be the right question but it leapt to mind because I had done a story a while back about rising STD rates in both the elderly (particularly susceptible to COVID) and also young people. Just pulling back from the tragedy of the sheer numbers affected there is a really fundamental question about just how many comorbidity factors there are, which may well include these viruses. The two articles of yours that I read both mention herpes. This is way over my pay grade but I am seeing what might be a connection or pattern. Or not. I can’t be the only one asking this.
