The last time I checked this stat, Ajah, it cost about $32k to give birth to a kid in today’s economy. That of course depends on a great many things, such as insurance, access to health care, the use of midwife and where you live, but it is hugely expensive just to put a child on the ground. Beyond that it boggles the mind, if for no other reason that virtually nobody on minimum wage or even working multiple gigs can manage a decent two bedroom apartment in most major US cities.
