That is just SO effing true. I am so tired of angry men who brag about things they can’t do, never did and never will do, when I have spent my own life doing those very things. Skydiving. Bungee jumping. Summitting big-ass mountains. Riding spicy horses and elephants and camels and donkeys all over the world. Kayaking the Arctic Ocean. To that, Lauren, if this is bragging, who the fuck are we going to look up to as role models if we don’t tell our stories? Mine did. She inspired me. What, we’re only allowed white guys as role models?

Even Outside Magazine finally got past that bullshit bandwagon.

One guy accused me of photoshopping my head on top of someone else’s badass body. I shot back that he might want to Google my name. Funny thing is that there are umpteen stories AND photos featuring that head attached to that badass body. He shut up. I have rarely laughed so hard. I’ve got some 140k photos from all my trips showing that I do what I say I do. That is backing it up, to your point. I am all over the goddamned Internet.

And I am a big fan of any woman who is comfortable owning her shit, both good and bad. Which is why when gymnast Simone Biles wears GOAT on her clothing she bloody well deserves to do so, and I am a fan.

Nothing cocky about it for those of us who happen to be cockless and damned good at what we do. We need to stop apologizing for being excellent as though we take up too much damned space that belongs to white guys or guys in general.
