Thanks, Kim. While I appreciate the sentiment, I'm not sure it's accurate to assume that a) the ONLY route I've ever explored is online or b) that I haven't spent a lifetime exploring all the options. At 68 I'm fucking done. I am more out in Real Life than most folks, ranging from my corporate consulting to professional speaking to my travel and journalism. The online was just another avenue as the others didn't work. The answer to this is far more complex, for we are in a world where post sixty women, no matter how we look or live or what we're like, are not desirable commodities. I've met plenty of lively men, but nobody shows up without baggage, Kim. Nobody. "Less baggage" is a euphemism for "it hasn't shown up yet." My problem, and it has increased with age, is that I will. Not. Tolerate. Men who do not take care of themselves, and that means emotionally, spiritually, physically. That narrows the field to a right trickle, and of those, they need to be single, and have a damned good brain, and share my values. That combination has meant singlehood. So be it. Single isn't evil. If anything, at this point, it's preferable to what I've experienced so far.
