Thanks Corrine. It's been like this for a long time. I get the impression that Medium is forcing authors on us that we aren't interested in as a way of getting them in the spotlight. I doubt this is true but it is the effect. The other effect is that Medium gutted its writers by making them impossible to follow, but they kept the subscribers who paid to read those same writers. End product? We writers write effectively for free, for our thousands of followers, who often signed up to read US, can't, so we can't get paid, but Medium keeps the subscription money.

Neat corporate trick. I don' t give a flying shit if they didn't intend it. But this is what happened. And when we started calling them out, they refused to respond to emails any more. Another neat trick.
