Thank you, Margaret. Adventure travel is what I do for a living, and the challenge which I'll be taking on shortly, is finding a provider that doesn't cost me nearly as much as the trip. I have used World Nomads for years; they have had to airlift me out of serious trouble twice to the tune of hundreds of thousands. The specific insurance I need is for extreme sports, and, not without humour, I notice that their assumption is that once we turn 70 we no longer do such things. Of course we do. Their assumption, being insurance companies, not without some merit, is that of course we cost more. Which of course disregards the irresponsible nature of many much younger travelers who take far greater riusks, don't train as hard and in many ways, put themselves into unnecessary danger, none of which I purposely do. Oh well. Alliant has a decent rep; I'm going to look into having them sponsor me for trips. We'll see what happens. My destinations don't typically include Europe which is way too expensive. I opt for developing countries and go far, far, far FAR afield.
