Thank you Christine. It’s insulting to tell people to just trust the process, just as it is insulting when people say to you and me in the middle of a shitstorm that when God closes one door He opens another. Not only is that uniquely unhelpful in the moment, it also dishonors the very process you note here. You have a journey. It’s unique to you. It takes what it takes. It cost me a lot of years and a lot of tears to touch Beethoven the way I can now. As a pre-schooler, I listened to the Nine Symphonies, as conducted by Bruno Walter, on our farm. I had no clue about the stories, nor did I have any idea that listening to those very same melodies sixty years later would be so transformative. Such is life, such is music, such is our journey. I wish you well on yours.
