Speaking as a Boomer, what this says to me is simple: what I want to know is whether X has any STDs, genital warts, or creepy crawlies. He could have had sex with one skank and gotten all three. The number isn’t necessarily the determining factor. Unprotected sex with folks leads to our carrying a lot more around than perhaps we’d planned. I’ve met very few men who are responsible enough to carry a condom or God forbid, bother to ask if I was on birth control. They frankly didn’t give a flying shit.

We live in a world where vast numbers of folks are carrying all kinds of STDS, even more have genital herpes and are asymptomatic but can give it to someone else (thanks for sharing), and yet people are still far too frivolous about safety. For me any more, if I decide to be playful again, more the measure of the man is whether or not he is mature and decent enough to be responsible about his body fluids. I have a Medium peep who makes it very clear (she’s a nurse, so she’s seen what happens without protection) and she demands a test up front and personal. Don’t like it?

Hit the road, Jack.
