Sandra, one of my closest friends experienced incest like I did, and that kind of thing has a way of going underground for years. We have no idea how much pain anyone carries, especially in the foster care space. The loss of innocence and trust are among the worst, for it causes you to either cling or to lash out in pain. Both are dysfunctional, but most of us have no idea that we are operating on a powder keg full of pain. That's a great observation.
