Many years ago I got diagnosed with bipolar. I actually have PTSD from military rapes. It’s extremely common. We women often get pawed, abused and heckled at the VA Centers (at 66 this still happens to me) and there is little done about it. We initiated Congessionals, the VA responds with mealy mouthed replies that they are committed to the finest possible care. Pardon me while I vomit into your wastebasket, gentlemen, but bullshit. There is a great deal to fear for quality of healthcare for all of us, but women in particular, women of Color especially, and Black women above all, and Black female veterans perhaps the worst. Those of us who fight like banshees for respect are reviled. Yet with the system we also have- and we are immensely grateful for- those who support us and help us. That makes it worthwhile.
