Precisely, Patty. I might add (to rip off George Carlin, among others) that in order to be a bad American, if you will, we need to learn to question everything. That might annoy the adminstrators, educators, parents et.al, but learning how to ask good questions, question authority, question the system is precisely what teaches us how not only to think but to operate outside the box. That “box” is what keeps us all in line, and as a result, limited. We can’t all be disruptors. But isn’t it a shame we tend to be fearful of an punish those who can indeed change the world.
