Our bodies have been commoditized, Kellye, in the same way everything else has. When this system first came out it had merit, but folks were scared. After it got normalized, the bad actors invaded, as they did Medium and everywhere else online. It was inevitable. I could write an entire set of volumes about the psychological implications but I don't care about it enough.
I have met a few people who were legit. Like....three. Out of twenty two years. Given that lying is the norm, I would rather take pleasure in my own company than tolerate having my limited time wasted. However, from the standpoint of having comedy copy for articles, I'm down with it. Just tired of being told I look like my pics by guys who don't, and having my age be the single biggest stumbling block for stumblebums who couldn't keep up with me hiking the speed bumps in their own parking lots. Nuff said.
