NO alcohol is good for you, Ms. Brown. This is a very unfortunate misreading of the Blue Zones. Those folks can drink wine because all their other habits allow it. While I can understand the urge to interpret those programs in a way which supports what you believe, the actual research says otherwise. NO alcohol is good for you. To that:

Again: those who drink moderately can do so because their other habits allow them to-NOT because the wine is good for them. I really dislike it when people push these agendas without doing the research.
We are always looking for ways to excuse our bad habits. If someone is 100 and they smoke a cigar everyday, the village idiot is going to smoke a cigar every day while ignoring what else the centenarian is doing. This is precisely what we're seeing with the Blue Zones program. Without excellent nutrition, exercise programs a social support system and a reason for being, all alcohol does in ANY form, natural or not, is DAMAGE.
The research does not support your premise, Ms. Brown.
