Nancy,

It's among the better platforms of what is left, to your point, but you really have to manage your expectations. First, you will not earn much here unless you are willing to spend your time marketing your ass off to get friends and family to join. That makes this an Amway outfit. Second, if you ARE willing to market your ass off, one has to wonder why on earth do it for so little money, for someone else who cares not a whit about you and me, and who will change how you are paid with the slightest whim, which is precisely what those of us who dedicated blood sweat and tears over the years to this platform are unhappy about. We loved it here. We were passionate about it. Others bark at us for complaining. The point is that while yes, those who are bitter ONLY because they aren't making scads of money (which only too few did in the first place, and certainly not this writer) the point is that when a great platform starts to skew sideways badly for the greater loss people speak up because we care. I would strongly recommend you write for Illumination publication which is about the only the one left where writers get good feedback and development. That makes it worth it. But do NOT expect to be fairly paid, or paid at all, if you write. Those days are gone.
