My Linked In feed is all about diversity. While Linked In is full of humble brag that is at times deeply embarrassing, I also see story after story of people who have overcome. For years I've spoken at a big gathering of Black PhDs, and hopefully will again next year. The stories those young people tell about what they had to go through to get their degrees is beyond inspirational. When a Black student sees a Black face teaching his class, that is aspirational and inspirational. We need stories. When stories of Black inventors and Black excellence are surpressed, as they have been, the narrative is perpetuated. Stories change lives. That's why White Supremacy buries stories of achievement.
