My ex was righteously horrified when he found ONE grey pube in his bright red bush in his early forties. Blessed with remarkably smooth skin, the man, who is so fearful of aging that he lies about it on Match.com, now colors his hair as well.

It is an embarrasment to all of us that we are so fearful of what is so very normal and natural. What I can indeed control, what I do control, are: what I eat, how much I move, how engaged I am, how joyful I am, how much hard deep work I put into my emotional maturity, and how far I push my boundaries.

Those keep me youthful. Screw the looking old part. People respond to my energy and my joy (or lack thereof on the inevitable bad days). I have one wild and precious life (Mary Oliver), and I mean to drink all the nectar out of it that I can.
