Mixed feelings. If your trip involves any kind of high adrenaline adventure, and by design mine always do, no phone will survive falling from the top of a mountain, off a running horse, blah blah. On this it depends entirely on the nature of your trip. I have bought those $350 drop me I don't die cameras for years, they work very well, they survive long drops, scuba trips and just about everything else other than being stepped on by an elephant. While yeah it adds a touch of weight, do you really want to sacrifice your pricey phone to save a few ounces? Again it depends.
