Marta, the common and unfortunate assumption that these issues are primarily associated with younger women is both dead wrong and long disproven. I'm not saying you are, just that it's a very common assumption, and that's part of the problem. There are thousands if not millions of older women with EDs who simply never grew out of them. And generations of them coming. Boomer women didn't talk about it and still don't. There are many instances of EDs in old folk's homes. My mother nearly killed herself in her eighties eating nothing but saltines to get skinny for a man. This is widespread, all ages, all cultures and all genders. It's an equal opportunity destroyer, killer and maimer. I've been there. I had mine for forty years. Not any more but not without great cost. Please see:
