Many of my readers can only now find me on Twitter. Where of course I don’t get paid. Those who found me on Twitter told me that never see my stuff any more and I publish daily. Given that this is a widely shared experience among many of us, and those of us who once enjoyed 95k views that we worked hard to earn now BARELY see 14,000, AT BEST, with the subsequent catastrophic drop in earnings, and no matter HOW often we write in, no matter HOW many times we ask hard questions, we have learned to expect NO response whatsoever, anything that comes out of the top at Medium at this point is suspect. You will forgive my lack of trust, lack of faith and complete and utter lack of respect for what your changes did to so very many top writers, who, under Covid, desperately needed that income. I have close to 8k followers, so my profile says, and I haven’t had more than 15k views for months. The math doesn’t add up for me or anyone else. Your turnover rate speaks for itself. What a pity so many of US might like a paid exit strategy. I concur with other writers below who, like me, worked hard to develop relationships, which your changes tore apart like a broom through a carefully crafted web. And you wonder where Benjamin Hardy and Kris Gage and others went?To better places. I’m working that too. Good companies ASK THEIR PEOPLE- in this case, their writers who are getting you eyeballs- before they utterly and totally rip apart the structure that those writers were once thriving on. And I also agree with the writer below who pointed out that Medium is now a cesspool, so much trolling, hate, and cheap viciousness, wherein three years ago that was utterly unheard of on this platform. To say nothing of the widespread plagiarism which you apparently refuse to deal with despite the fact that you state you don’t tolerate it. Yeah. You do. Just like you aren’t doing a good job of protecting those folks who earned you the value that Medium currently has. You have long lost the trust of this writer, and many others who like me, used to think this was the ONE oasis on line we could count on. Now I have to block, delete and report trollers regularly. You lost your way and I am not sure there is a way back .
