I get this same shit from women, Gillian, who seem to think that my live out loud life us an insult to their gender. Especially women my age. Not all, but those who buy into the patriarchy.

To that Madame, I would offer this pilfered line: It ain’t bragging if you’ve done it. Period full stop.

I am by God delighted and impressed by badass women who own their real estate. What? You’re going to tell the extraordinary Chloe Kim to shut the fuck up? You’re going to tell Jane Goddall to deny or not own her amazing work? You’re going to tell half the human race which is already sat upon, controlled, legislated and told to stay at the back of the social bus to not be brilliant which as humans they have every right to be?

I refuse to apologise for my existence, and I also refuse to apologise for a god-damned amazing life. Because when I am fearless about my own accomplishments I give others permission to be fearless about theirs. And that’s not bragging or trying to be superior. If it is a fact, it’s not bragging. If someone else choose to feel inferior, folks, That. Is. Their. God-damned. Problem.
