Kristin, I would bet a dime to a dollar that it’s only a matter of time before the gov gets involved in America. But not as long as Trump is president. My thinking is that if we get a Dem in the door, the genuine concern for the masses of folks who can’t find housing is going to force the issue. I think that this kind of limitation (which I will bet you some folks find a way to get around, as they always do) is coming, because at some point, locals are going to start getting ugly if their neighbors turn nice homes into what effectively are flop houses.

While in Canada this past summer, one of the riders commented that after he’d moved to the West Coast, he noticed all kinds of people wandering his yard, his street, the woods around his house, peering into his home. His neighbors were doing AirBnB. He was furious about the intrusion and I don’t blame him one bit. I’d be thinking about a few well trained pitties to take care of the problem myself.

What troubles me about this, Kristin, is the lack of respect for the neighbors, the neighborhoods and the quality of life. When investors buy homes in the neighborhood they take control of your immediate surroundings. That’s terrifying because they don’t give a flying shit about your environment. It is always and only about the money.
