Keep in mind that it is written with a rather specific demographic in mind which is why Outside magazine loves him. There’s a certain Bear Grylls element, but if you can separate that out, the research is good. The moment I read his quote from a white hunter that culling an elephant herd of the matriarchs, he lost me big time, as all the research proves otherwise. You can’t legislate stupidity, but again, that’s my opinion. A PhD doesn’t make you smart. It just gives you alphabet soup.
