Jim, in the Kindle version of Summer of NIght, superb Colorado author Dan Simmons wrote a new intro about all of those of us who wrote in to discuss how his depiction of 1960s Midwest America, full of open lands and forests to explore which defined our childhoods, was a sad statement about today. I was also a free range kid. Today's kids lost all that. It's a sad statement about what we have done to our children.
