It’s about 4 am at my house and you just started my day off with several healthy guffaws.
May I offer this? First, thank you so very kindly for your lovely words. Second, you may discover that your grandkids will ADORE you for your stories, your truth and your honesty. I don’t have any, so there are no conventions that prevent me from being as hang-it-out-there as possible. I don’t rightly care who might be shocked. I am much more intrigued by those who have decided to give themselves permission to laugh out loud at those things that make us human. Sex is among the most hilarious indeed.
You offer me a great compliment and thank you. I believe with all my heart that our ability to tell our truth weaves the community together in ways that woe doesn’t and never can. While we all have plenty of shared pain, perhaps what is the greater good is the ability to hang our hurts on a bull’s eye and fire funny darts at it. The more we poke fun at our pain, the more we rise above it.
Stay tuned Lin, I have another one coming this morning that speaks in part to this notion of sharing who we are, and damn the grandkids. They learn how to be themselves in full when we do the same. That, my dear, is one hell of a gift indeed. As your note to me this morning is. Thank you.
