It is the curse of each successive generation to embarrass the holy shit out of previous ones by waxing nostalgic about a time when you were ten and I was in my forties.

Sigh.

However there’s an interesting takeaway. I grew up on a farm right about the time tv showed up in black and white. I would negotiate with my dad on Saturday afternoons- he wanted college ball, I wanted stupid B sci fi movies. Or I rode my horse.

It is always and forever about how you and I were raised around time and entertainment. I am quite happy with silence or I can tolerate Netflix.. for a while. But given the option to be inside or out, long as I don’t have a deadline, I will be outside. My reference point for fun is nature, which is increasingly rare. However, I think that some folks are getting a little fed up with devices and are seeking more. I may be wrong. There is nothing on tv or my device so lovely as a sunset, or the crash of waves, or the susurration of wind in the pines.

At some point I think we hit saturation, which you alluded to, and exquisite simplicity beckons.

I sure hope so for if we are to have nature, we must have kids who love nature and grow up willing to fight for her.

Nothing on Netflix will ever replace what I have seen, and hope to see again.
