In an unrelated but sort of related case I was listening to the story of the family behind Perdue Pharma, makers of oxy, and authors of half a million deaths and millions more addicted . When the author of the book that exposed this story was asked why he felt it was so impossible for the family (and this is key) which was SO FUCKING ATTACHED TO ITS GOOD NAME, could not even begin to countenance the devastation they had created, he said that even opening that door a crack would be impossible for them to countenance. THAT, MK, is instructive. For that family tried for years to blame the addicts. Sound familiar? I don't see any difference in the need for the US/White folks (not just Americans) to avoid taking responsibility for what has happened to Black races. For to do so is to own your shit. To do that, MK, takes a level of courage we do not yet have. Not in our lifetimes.
