If I had a penny for every person I saw using horrendously poor lifting form I'd own my own island in the Seychelles. Poor form is recipe for the ER, long term damage, unnecessary tears and really ugly surgeries. As an aging body builder, I am supremely fortunate some very good folks took me aside forty seven years ago and pointed out who to emulate, who to ignore and why. The result is that after nearly five decades, the only injuries I have had were cross training. Not lifting. When you lift for life, you lift out of respect not only for your limitations but also for longevity. Older lifters do indeed lift more carefully, more slowly and deliberately. One, we don't care who's watching. Two, we DO care about strength, endurance, and staying out of rehab.
