I would prefer- and this is just me- to believe that I am a magnet for what I need to learn, hear, see and face. That puts the choice squarely in my lap for how I choose to receive information, feedback etc. There are plenty of times that I don’t like what I get. That inevitably communicates to me that HERE, indeed is a red flag, something for me to investigate. If nothing else, whether there’s an issue I’m harboring, or simply a perspective that is worth considering which expands my universe. To attack the messenger is like a general who breaks military law by murdering the poor sot who had to deliver bad news. The law protects the messenger. What you do with whatever you had delivered is YOUR job, not the messenger’s. That is the heart and very soul of personal responsibility.
