I would add to this that the view of Black people as "entertainment" is the same thing. When I was in Gaansbai, S.A. the skipper of my shark boat commented, along with his Afrikaaner wife, that Black people "could sing and dance but that was about it," I had to wonder what he would have done had he had a heart attack and the only available cardiologist was a Zulu man? My business partner, who is a Black woman, wrote in her book that when she was working at a psychiatric ward- mind you she has a PhD- one of the patients she was caring for kept screaming the N word at her. It simply boggles the mind.
