I would add to this a society which damns single women as failures, to boot, and assumes that the fact they're not partnered is because they are damanged goods. A lot of us are, in fact, because of those partners, but the patriarchy cannot, cannot, cannot look at itself. Cannot take responsibility. That is our job.
