I was listening to a story today about Angel Island, off the California Coast, which is where thousands of Chinese immigrants were interned and often turned back before WWII. You know, Rosalyn, it is appalling that we cannot, cannot, cannot own our incredibly racist history. I don't know if you follow Rebecca Stevens A, but she's a terrific writer and her velvet glove over a hammer approach to calling out her experiences is incredibly compelling. Even better, I've watched her followers grow by leaps and bounds in barely a year. Between Rebecca and Marley K, as well as Sharon Hurley Hall, there are some superb writers whose collective voices tend to bark back at those who are so buried in denial they are drowning in it. MarleyK can be hard to read at times but she has some 27k followers for a reason. They are all active on Twitter, especially Sharon, who regularly interviews and highlights anti-racism writers. For what it's worth.
