I was curious about this. Kindly, at nearly 70 and about to head out on a nine day horse ride across the Atacama Desert of Chile (just finishing my last-minute shopping this week in Calama), here's my thought. If it works for you fine. But I cringe every time I read a headline that has the conceit to say ALL older women (fill in the blank). None of us speaks for ALL anyone, Debbie. These days what I care about is moisture after fifty years in Denver, and about to head out for an adventure in THE driest spot on the face of the earth. I am driven far more by practicality than beauty, especially since said beauty standards underscore the message that female aging is a sin on society. Oh and by the way, BUY THIS and look better. At some point, and I've reached it, I care vastly more about the good I do and the quality of my thoughts an above all my overall health than foundation (which I have always found appalling anyway). I have an aging face. The wrinkles speak to the mountains I've climbed, the rivers I've paddled, the kayaks I've whipped around rocks, the horses I've ridden in some of the world's most extraordinary places. I am far more proud of that, and whatever character I might have gleaned from that, than trying to cover up said wrinkles or proof of life from this face. I've earned this face. If people don't like it as it is, don't bloody well look at it. I do, every day, and I love what I see, sans makeup, sans foundation. I moisturize because it feels good. I realized the last time I colored my hair that I looked utterly foolish. It looks better grey. The rest of it, driven by fear-mongering corporations (Defy Age! Anti Aging!!!!!) Can. Go. Spit. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go locate some seriously good SPF and have a bloody good adventure out in the middle of nowhere. I realize that's not for everyone, but the way I see it Debbie, the less we worry about how we look as we age, the freer we are. We are far better off focusing on our fitness, our overall health, which in far too many cases is in execrable shape. What good is foundation on a face when the body is sick? But that's just me. Each to his own.
